The master program at HHL gave me an unparalleled freedom to explore my intellectual curiosity and career options. The program empowered me to choose courses, projects and internship possibilities to fit my preferences and build on real-world experiences. HHL’s collaborative community of accomplished students and supporting faculty has encouraged me to take risks, seek different career opportunities in various industries and finally define my own career path.
With its interdisciplinary and practical approach, HHL equipped me with a holistic toolset which helps me to thrive early in my career. Rationalizing situations with quantitative models, analyzing challenges from various perspectives and deriving business critical solutions is only a minor selection of the skills I refined during my time at HHL. Beyond the skill set, I am fascinated about the high-quality profiles in our HHL network and their openness to step into a dialogue.
Getting my degree at HHL was one of the best decisions I could have made: it prepared me to thrive in any environment, no matter how complex or challenging, and connected me to incredible recruiters, alumni, and life-long friends. The HHL spirit is unique in that you can be more yourself, which helped me walk my own path after graduation and helped me fulfill my dream of a thriving career in the US.
The courses at HHL also gave me important tools and a profoundly broad knowledge base, which supported me in my development as a consultant and during my first steps at McKinsey. The freedom to combine three majors probably reflects best how much the academic profile of HHL allows students to tailor their general management toolkit. In my view, this is an outstanding asset for a generalist consulting path.
Further, the course formats at HHL gave me the chance to learn how to structure problems under time pressure, handle multiple assignments at the same time and how to effectively work in teams. It may be stressful at times, but I could understand how I prefer to work in these situations and how to build resilience.
The master program at HHL prepared me for the job world through its practical approach. Everybody worked on many real-life projects as part of the curriculum. This practical orientation combined with various networking events, continuous career coaching and numerous internship possibilities gave me a chance to visualize what I could and wanted to do after my studies.
With a background in media management and advertising, shifting to a major in Finance really pushed my understanding of how markets work and opened up a whole new perspective on business to me. Not only this, but the well-chosen balance between theoretical and applied finance prepared me for my start at Bain and continues to enhance my work as a consultant.
During my studies abroad, I especially enjoyed learning about business in Latin America, such as the startup environment or other business opportunities. Both on campus and while travelling I spent a lot of time getting to know other people and cultures. This also prepared me for my career to work in a way that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries.
Studying at HHL has certainly been the challenge I was looking for. To reach – or go beyond – my limitations was both what I intended and achieved. Working with smart and diverse teams on several projects simultaneously enhanced my organizational skills, time management and stress resistance significantly. HHL definitely provided me with the toolset to master the upcoming challenges.
One of the many reasons why I chose to study at HHL is its excellent career service. You receive great support in preparing your application documents and valuable training for job interviews. Furthermore, every year there are about 30 company events at HHL, at which HHL alumni and other high-ranked company representatives present their field of work, conduct a workshop and tell you in a relaxed atmosphere over food and drinks what working for their company is really like.
Your personal aspirations are at the centre of the entire program – from the content to the practical experience. Thanks to the flexibility of the Master in Management program at HHL, it can be adapted to your individual career path. You decide whether to complete the program in 21 or 24 months. You select the focus of the program according to your personal and professional interests. You choose how to shape your practical experience.
We will equip you with all the tools to become a responsible and effective leader and manager – be it in an international company, a reputable consultancy, or an innovative startup. In addition to leading you to a deepened understanding of state-of-the-art business management concepts, our Master program in Germany will also strengthen the skills that will ensure your success in management in the digital and fast-paced future on an international scale.
The full-time Master in Management program consists of the following elements designed to educate and train innovative, responsible, and successful future leaders.
