Technologies such as artificial intelligence are rewriting the rules of how companies are founded, led, and grown. Yet whether these changes turn into real progress is still decided by people. At our Chair, we build bridges between management and technology, between research and practice, and between local and international perspectives.
Bridging management and technology. We are curious about the people behind the technology, how technological change reshapes organizations and management practice, and the role innovation plays in navigating uncertain times. We approach these questions with rigorous, data-driven research and aim to contribute to the leading international journals in our field.
Bridging research and practice. In our teaching, we bring together current research, real cases, and the voices of practitioners, in a psychologically safe atmosphere and at eye level. Beyond the classroom, we work closely with companies and media partners: we regularly translate our findings into publications for practitioners, collaborate with companies on joint projects, supervise theses with and for organizations, and host events that bring academics, entrepreneurs, and executives together.
Bridging local and international perspectives. Rooted in Leipzig, we act internationally through teaching across countries and cultures, international learning formats, and research partnerships around the world.
In everything we do, we see ourselves as learners. We want to understand technological transformation a little better every day and help shape it with confidence, responsibility, and independence.
Prof. Dr. Victoria Willcke-Berg studied industrial engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), earned her doctorate at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, and subsequently worked there as a postdoctoral researcher. Her research on entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology transformation appears in leading international journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing or the Journal of Product Innovation Management, where one of her studies received the Albert Page Award in 2025.
She has taught at international institutions including the University of St. Gallen and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, with a focus on practice-oriented and international formats in master’s, MBA, and executive programs. As a consultant and certified coach and change manager, she has extensive experience in supporting organizations, particularly in technology-intensive industries, in organizational transformation and leadership development up to the C-suite. This experience, together with contributions to outlets such as Harvard Business Manager and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, closely connects her research with managerial practice.
