Student Consulting Project

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a consultant. Your challenge is to collaborate in a team of four to six students to advise and support a company in solving a real-life problem. Working closely with both company representatives and HHL faculty, you will learn first-hand what it means to initiate real change.

Mind Meets Machine | GenAI for Future Leaders

Generative AI is transforming the way organizations operate – at a pace that demands strategic understanding at the leadership level. This course provides a solid foundation in GenAI: from technical fundamentals and market developments to regulatory frameworks, ethical considerations, and change management. Drawing on real-world case studies and insights from experts in consulting and academia, participants learn to critically assess AI potential and translate it into tangible business impact.

Coding & Data Literacy

Programming skills are increasingly essential for leaders navigating a data-driven economy. The tuition fees for the complete program amount to EUR 38,500. We offer a tuition fee reduction if you submit your complete application by the following Early Bird deadlines*:

• Early Bird 1: November 30 – Discount: EUR 4,500 
• Early Bird 2: January 31 – Discount: EUR 3,000
• Early Bird 3: March 31 – Discount: EUR 1,500

This covers all tuition and examination costs and includes the tuition fees for the term abroad at one of our partner universities. And, of course, the fees do not have to be paid in one lump sum. You will pay your tuition fees in four instalments – spread out over two years. For further information, see our payment terms. Scholarships Overview 

Pay your tuition fees in installments!

After having been admitted to HHL, you are required to pay a down payment of EUR 3,000. The remaining fees will be paid as follows: The first and second installments are payable on October 1 and March 1 of the first study year. The third and fourth installments are payable on September 1 and March 1 of the second study year.

The Full-time Master in Management | Strategy and Business Consulting at HHL is a 21–24 month, English-language program based in Leipzig, awarding an M.Sc. with 120 ECTS. The program develops the three core competencies of modern consultants: analytical intelligence (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), and AI literacy (AQ). A new cohort starts every September.

Yes. The Master in Management (M.Sc.) is designed for candidates with a business-related academic background, such as management, economics, finance, accounting, marketing, or related business disciplines.

Yes. Applicants are required to submit a valid GMAT, GRE, or HHL Entry Test score as part of the admission process. However, you may start your application by submitting the mandatory documents first and provide the test score later within the application timeline.

Yes. Applicants must have at least 3 months of relevant practical experience, such as internships, working student positions, or full-time employment. Supporting documentation can be submitted after the initial application.

The program covers Welcome Weeks, Essentials, Elective Essentials (four modules tailored to consulting career goals), Business Competencies (student consulting project, mandatory internship, and up to two additional internships), and the Strategy and Business Consulting Deep Dives. Throughout the program, students work on real consulting projects with industry experts from firms including BCG, McKinsey, and Roland Berger.

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and at least three months of relevant work experience. Beyond academic results and test scores, HHL places equal weight on personality, motivation, and ambition. All shortlisted candidates participate in a selection interview. The tuition for the Full-time Master in Management | Strategy and Business Consulting is EUR 38,500, paid in four installments, covering all tuition, exams, and the term abroad. Early bird discounts apply for applications submitted by November 30 (EUR 4,500 off), January 31 (EUR 3,000 off), or March 31 (EUR 1,500 off). The fees are tax-deductible as an anticipated income-related expense in Germany.

Graduates earn an average starting salary of EUR 81,500, rising to approximately EUR 115,000 three years after graduation, according to HHL’s FT MiM Employment Report 2025. In the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking 2025, HHL ranks #3 in Europe for graduate salaries.

Applications are submitted via the HHL application portal. Mandatory documents include: CV, Letter of Motivation, high-school diploma, Bachelor’s transcript, and a passport photo. Further documents (proof of work experience, degree certificate, proof of English proficiency, GMAT/GRE/HHL Entry Test score) can be submitted later.

Students can complete a term abroad at one of HHL’s 140 global partner universities, with tuition for that term fully included in the program fee. A double degree option is also available with select universities across more than 20 countries.

The course Mind Meets Machine: GenAI for Future Leaders covers AI fundamentals, regulatory considerations, and real-world consulting applications, taught in collaboration with a Managing Director and Partner at BCG and BCG X. A dedicated Coding and Data Literacy course introduces programming in R, covering data wrangling, visualization, and machine learning applied to business problems.
