Tackling the climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our times. The energy transition plays a vital role in reaching net zero by 2050 and limiting the rise in global temperatures to 1.5° C. Reaching this goal requires unmatched levels of international cooperation and investments, “nothing short of a total transformation of the energy systems that underpin our economies” (IEA, 2021). In order to discuss this pressing issue and the role that the financial industry must play within the transition, HHL invited Emma Crystal, the newly appointed Chief Sustainability Officer at Credit Suisse, to a fireside chat with our dean Stephan Stubner.

Together Emma and Stephan will talk about the different challenges stemming from the energy transition, the development of carbon prices and markets as well as the role that new technology and start-ups will play.

The talk will be held in English.
