FAQ
My Bachelor's degree is from outside Germany. Can I apply?
Of course! You first need to verify your university holds an “H+” status through the Anabin database. Please note: applicants from China, India, and Vietnam need an APS certificate to be able to study at a German university.
Can I stay and work in Germany after graduation?
Germany’s visa regulations are very favorable for international students. After completing your studies, you can apply for an 18-month job seeker visa, a work permit, or an EU Blue Card for highly skilled professionals who meet a minimum salary threshold.
How to finance your studies?
HHL offers several partial scholarships, which must be applied for within the application or within two weeks of applying. External scholarships, student loans, and foundations are also available via the HHL Financing Options and Scholarships page.
Do I need to speak German to join HHL's programs?
No. The the programs at HHL are fully taught in English. However, learning German can help you settle into life in Germany and may improve your career opportunities after graduation. HHL offers German language courses.
What is the difference between HHL's Master and MBA programs?
HHL’s Master programs (M.Sc.) are designed for graduates who are at the beginning of their career, typically with up to three years of work experience. They focus on building specialized expertise alongside a strong management foundation. HHL’s MBA programs are designed for professionals with several years of work experience who want to broaden their leadership capabilities and take the next step in their career. The key difference is not just academic level but career stage and the depth of work experience you bring to the program.
