3. Purposes of Processing and Legal Basis

HHL processes personal data in the form of photos and videos for public relations and the external presentation of HHL on its website and associated pages (e.g. HHL Blog, HHL Digital Space, HHL Shop), in social networks and media as well as in brochures and print media. Furthermore, the data is used on HHL’s internal online platforms. A detailed list of the purposes of use can be found in the consent form, which we use to obtain your consent for media use.

The legal basis is on the one hand your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 a) GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation, EU Law), and in individual cases the legitimate interest of HHL pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR.

A legitimate interest of HHL exists in particular if an exceptional case within the meaning of § 23 KUG (German Act on Copyright in Works of Fine Art and Photography) exists.

4. Recipients of Your Personal Data

The photos and videos may be published on the internet on the HHL websites, in social networks and media, in HHL print media, and in the national and international press.

Depending on the purpose, recipients of your personal data may be:

  • HHL internal departments (marketing, press)
  • our service providers and processors for the HHL website and associated pages
  • our service providers and processors to create brochures and other marketing materials
  • regional, national, and international press
  • social media/network providers.

5. Transfer to Third Countries

If images are published via our social media channels, published data may be transferred to providers based in the USA and thus to a third country. The basis for the transfer is Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

6. Revocation

If you give your consent to the publication of your photos and videos, you can revoke this consent in whole or in part at any time with effect for the future. In this case, please send an email to: datenschutz@hhl.de, or by post to the contact details given in section 2.

In the event of revocation, we will immediately remove the photos from our web pages/social networks and media. If we have also used video material of you, we will continue to use it. If there is a new edition of the video, we will of course use footage that does not show you. The same applies to the publication of your photos in print media. If these were already printed at the time of your revocation, we may continue to use them. If a new edition is published, we will remove your photos beforehand.

The legality of the processing of your data up to the time of revocation remains unaffected by this.

The photos and videos are generally deleted after 10 years – unless further consent to their use has been obtained and they are not included in our historical archive..
