Have you ever wondered what your company is actually worth and whether a purchase price is realistically financeable?

Or are you a successor facing the challenge of assuming responsibility on short notice and gaining acceptance from employees and business partners?

Particularly within the Saxon SME sector (Mittelstand), many companies are currently facing the task of successfully managing the transition to the next generation. Numerous owners and managing directors are reaching an age where a business succession becomes necessary. Such a succession involves a wide range of strategic, financial and organizational questions.

In this context, the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management works closely with the Unternehmerverband Sachsen e.V. (Saxon Business Association) and invites member companies to an evening workshop. The event will focus on two essential success factors for a prosperous corporate succession:

  1. What is my company worth, and what financing options do I have as a successor?
    Professor Dr. Alexander Lahmann (Chairholder Mergers & Acquisitions and Director of the Institute for Family Businesses and Entrepreneurial Succession) dedicates his work to supporting business successions and will cover more than just company valuation. The optimal timing for the handover, the right transition process, and the appropriate structure will also be key focus areas.
  2. How do you achieve an impactful start in corporate management, and how can a structured 90-day program secure the success of the new leadership?
    In his keynote speech, Dr. Dr. Justinus Pech (Academic Director Part-time MBA, founder and lecturer for leadership and coaching) will address the topic of leadership during a company takeover, going beyond just the first operational steps of the new management team. Successfully managing the change of roles, building trust with employees and stakeholders, and quickly identifying key areas for action will also be central themes.

In the subsequent discussion with Steffen Fischer (Geschäftsführer FISCHER druck&medien) , these theoretical insights will be complemented by practical experience, allowing for the discussion of concrete questions from everyday business practice.
