The market of private equity (PE) is thriving. In 2020, buyouts initiated by PE funds accounted for roughly 20 per cent of global M&A transactions – characterizing a steep rise over the last decade.

This session is part of a broader lecture series surrounding the topic of private equity (PE). Together with his guests Sandra Krusch (E&Y Pertner) and Private Equity Leader DACH Patricia Volhard (Debevoise Plimpton Partner), Prof. Bernhard Schwetzler (Chairholder, HHL Chair of Financial Management) discusses ESG and Private Equity.

The following topics will be highlighted and exploratively analyzed in the session:

  • The new EU directive and its consequences for the fund industry
  • Legal requirements
  • Impact on the market
  • How does ESG compliance affect PE performance?
  • How is diversity (as one aspect of ESG) in the PE industry, are these non- financial factors decicive for winning a deal?
  • How dies diversity affect deal and fund performance?

The talk will be held in English.
