With the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) entering into force on January 5, 2023 sustainability reporting and auditing will also become mandatory for medium-sized companies.
A survey was conducted with companies in cooperation with Grant Thornton on the topic of sustainability and sustainability reporting. The Accounting Talk will address the results of the survey and at the same time show what the biggest challenges are for medium-sized companies and how auditors can provide the best possible support in the introduction and implementation of sustainability reporting and auditing.

Prof. Dr. Henning Zülch holds the Chair of Accounting and Auditing at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management since September 2006. His research focuses on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial communication. In the area of financial communication, he focuses on the following topics Reporting (including digital communication and non-financial reporting), Investor Relations, Capital Markets (Mergers & Acquisitions) and Sports Management.
Prof. Dr. Zülch is the initiator and academic director of the annual Investors’ Darling competition, which is held in cooperation with manager magazin to find the company with the best financial communication on the German capital market. hhl.de/zuelch
Dr. Claudia Schrimpf-Dörges leads the Accounting & Reporting Advisory and ESG service lines in the Audit & Assurance division. She is responsible for audit-related consulting for medium-sized and capital market-oriented (PIE) companies and has more than 20 years of professional experience in the areas of national and international accounting and auditing. In the field of ESG, she and her team successfully support clients in the design and implementation of ESG reporting processes and the preparation of ESG reports. In addition, she audits non-financial statements or reports of listed companies in a responsible position. Dr. Schrimpf-Dörges is a long-standing author of articles in renowned accounting commentaries on IFRS and HGB accounting.
