Application Deadlines

  • November 30: Early Bird 1 – Discount: EUR 4,500
  • January 31: Early Bird 2 – Discount: EUR 3,000
  • March 31: Early Bird 3 – Discount: EUR 1,500
  • May 31: final deadline for international (non-EU) applicants
  • June 30: final deadline for EU applicants and non-EU applicants not requiring a visa to Germany

YOU accept our offer by signing the contract and paying the commitment fee within 2 weeks

Admission Criteria

Master in Entrepreneurship

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Above average academic performance during both high school (Abitur) and Bachelor degree
  • A minimum TOEFL score of 90 (or IELTS of 7.0) or a Bachelor degree completed in English
  • 3 or more months of professional experience by the program’s start date
  • GMAT/GRE/HHL Entry test is not required!

    Application Checklist

    Are you ready to start your HHL journey? Have a look at our checklist to make sure you have all the required documents ready:

    Mandatory application materials to submit your application:

    • Curriculum vitae
    • Motivational video (video component, max. 90 seconds, common formats such as MP4, MOV, AVI, file size not more than 10MB), answering the following three questions:

      a. Why do you want to study the Master in Entrepreneurship at HHL, and how does this program fit with your personal and professional goals?
      b. Tell us about an experience where you showed initiative or entrepreneurial thinking. What did you learn from it?
      c. What is a business idea or trend that currently fascinates you, and why?

    • Copy of your high-school diploma (Abitur)
    • Current/final transcript of your Bachelor’s degree
    • Passport photo

    Further application documents are (those can be submitted later)*:

    • Proof of a minimum of 3 months of relevant practical work experience
    • Copy of Degree Certificate (if already available)
    • Proof of English proficiency

    Applicants from China, India and Vietnam need an APS certificate in order to be able to study at a German university. Please visit APS China, APS India or APS Vietnam for further information.

    *In order to receive the early bird discount, you must have submitted your application by the above deadlines, as well as submit all missing documents and tests (e.g. the TOEFL or IELTS and successfully pass the HHL admissions interview until January 31 (Early Bird 1), March 31 (Early Bird 2) or June 30 (Early Bird 3).

      Admission Interview

      After you have submitted your application online and your eligibility for the program has been confirmed, you will be invited to a virtual admission interview with an HHL professor.

      The interviews will take place on the following dates, and you are welcome to choose the one that suits you best:

      – 16.12. 2025
      – Further dates will follow

      The interview usually takes about 30 minutes and serves as a basis to get to know each other. From our side, we will look at the following dimensions: 

      1. Personal Fit
      We want to understand your motivation and potential as a future entrepreneur. Your interviewer will seek to learn more about your academic and professional background, your entrepreneurial mindset, and your motivation to study at HHL.  

      You may also be asked to elaborate on questions related to your application video, such as e.g.: 
      a. Why do you want to study the Master in Entrepreneurship at HHL, and how does this program fit with your personal and professional goals? 
      b. Tell us about an experience where you showed initiative or entrepreneurial thinking. What did you learn from it? 
      c. What is a business idea or trend that currently fascinates you, and why? 

      2. Business Acumen
      We also look for your business acumen. Besides motivation for the program, do you have what it takes to successfully build a business? This includes areas like: 

      a. Problem-solving abilities (analytical skills, structuring, flexibility, creativity, business understanding) 
      b. Discussion competency (argumentation, assessment ability, critical thinking) 
      c. Personality (clarity of thought, confidence, theoretical ability)

      3. Feedback and your questions

      Such an interview is always mutual. We also want to give you the opportunity to get to know us better and to clarify any open questions you may have. So feel invited to ask your questions also and challenge us on the aspects that are important for your decision to join HHL. 

      After a successful interview, your complete application will be reviewed by our Admissions Committee. You will be informed about the final decision approximately 7–10 days after the interview.
