What we do

The HHL Library supports teaching and research at HHL with reliable information services focusing on business and economics. The library stock comprises about 27,000 textbooks and monographs on business and economics. The HHL Library subscribes to more than 80 international journals in print and over 5000 electronical journals and newspapers and offers about 40 licensed databases covering more than 170,000 sources. About 20,000 thousands of ebooks are accessible online.
The library resources are available to HHL students and academic staff 24/7. That is, books can be read and borrowed even late at night or at weekends. Non-stop access to online resources is provided within the HHL network via the Library’s page on the intranet of HHL, eCampus.
In January 2015, the HHL Library was named after Dr. Tessen and Dorothee von Heydebreck. With the new name HHL shows its acknowledgement of the great support the couple has been giving to HHL for many years. Dr. Tessen von Heydebreck was the Chairman of HHL’s Supervisory Board from 2009-2020.

Services

A team of qualified and committed librarians supports library users in their search for information. They regularly offer library tours and database introduction sessions in English and German. The database tutorials are offered on campus and online. They can also be arranged on individual request.
The HHL Library is part of the international interlibrary loan network and provides also books from libraries in other regions. All members of the HHL community may make use of the reference management program Citavi licensed by HHL. For students who are writing their master thesis the library offers special services (longer lending periods, free interlibrary loans et. al.).
The Library maintains an information blog in HHL’s intranet. Thus it keeps the members of the HHL community informed about new services and latest library news.
