On behalf of the participants from HHL, MBA student Yang Song comments, "In addition to simulation cases, including those created by our classmates as part of the HHL class on negotiation, we have also studied the Harvard negotiation methods and some other general applied strategies of negotiating to prepare for the competition." According to the Chinese student, it is always important to maintain good relations with the negotiation partner. The HHL student confidently states, "We expect a top result during The Negotiation Challenge and already look forward to participating in this unique event."
For the first time in the history of the event, the finale will take place outside Europe. While on Friday, April 7, 2018, the 18 international teams consisting of three students each competed once again on the Internet, they will go face to face during the three main rounds and the final in Colombia's capital Bogotá on April 21 and 22, 2017. Training negotiation competencies
The Negotiation Challenge was established in 2007 by HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management and Harvard Law School. It is designed to help MBA and law students to train their negotiation competencies in a competition with other business and law schools.
In addition to the teams’ ability to work together, their endurance and intercultural exchange, the participants also learn that it is not just the outcome of a negotiation that is important. The way in which the negotiation is led is already determining the nature of the future business relationship in a sustainable manner.
