top HHL Scores With Innovation

The full-time MBA program offered by HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management was once again ranked among the leading business schools worldwide by the Latin American AméricaEconomía business journal. According to the latest ranking, the first business school in the German-speaking world is in the top 40 worldwide (37th) and jumped another 7 places forward compared to the previous year. HHL is one of only three management universities in Germany which achieved such a high rating and, coming in 16th, now ranks among the top 20 in Europe.

HHL leads the nation in the field of innovation

Professor Stephan Stubner, Dean of HHL, is with about the positive results for Germany's first business school, saying, "We also owe this success to the high level of internationality of our classes with students from 63 nations currently. AméricaEconomía particularly valued the consistent focus on innovation management and entrepreneurship in our MBA programs." For the criterion of innovation, HHL is the leader of the German business schools in the latest ranking. The proportion of junior and senior executives from Latin America who choose to complete their Master's at HHL is increasing as well. The number of Latin American MBA students has quadrupled over the last five years.

More and more students from Latin America choose HHL

HHL MBA student Renzo Aristondo, 28 years old, comes from Chile. Following his Bachelor's degree and some initial work experience, he wanted to study in Europe and learn a new foreign language. "I quickly decided to come to Germany because the country has a solid economy and offers a high quality of life. After one year, I can say it was the right decision. You can tell that HHL is one of the best business schools in Germany by looking at the companies that come onto the campus to get to know and invite us." For the junior and senior executives from Latin America, an MBA degree from HHL opens doors on the national and international job market. HHL's strong alumni network is another contributing factor according to Renzo Aristondo, who comments, "Professionally and personally, I have always had a strong international focus — which perfectly matches HHL's profile."

Network Latin America

HHL is connected to the countries of Latin America not only through its current and former students. The school also actively works with a substantial number of business schools and universities listed in the ranking through various programs. Therefore, HHL is a member of CLADEA (Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración), the association of Latin American business schools.

The AméricaEconomía business journal has been publishing rankings of MBA programs from Latin America since 1995. As a response to the increased interest from students and companies in universities in Europe and the USA, the list was later expanded to include schools from these regions. The assessment criteria include the average GMAT score, the proportion of international students as well as the innovative profile in organization and instruction.

The 2018 MBA ranking by AméricaEconomía will be available at from mid-June 2018 (including an English version).

The Master Program in General Management (MBA) at HHL offers a Fast Track option in addition to the Advanced Track.  While the Fast Track may be completed in a residential phase of twelve months followed by three months preparation time for the Master's thesis, the extended Advanced Track is set to last up to 21 months. The Fast Track program mainly addresses the needs of participants with five or more years of professional experience, allowing them to return to work after only one year of studying. The longer Advanced Track Program is an option best suited to junior executives with three to five years of professional experience and international students in particular. The benefits of the Advanced Track include a greater variety of electives, an optional term abroad, an internship and/or a German language course, which might be of particular interest to the international participants.

The MBA program offered by HHL, which is taught in English, is considered one of the best independently developed programs of this kind in Germany. The proportion of international students in this HHL program is over 90 percent, an outstanding figure in comparison to full-time MBA programs globally. Since its introduction in the year 2000, the full-time MBA program has focused on teaching management and leadership skills in a global context. This is supported by an innovative curriculum and 27 lecturers from seven different countries. They provide students with an insight into the latest scientific management approaches in a global context. The practical relation is ensured by teaching content with practical relevance including case studies, a field project accompanying the program or an optional internship abroad. International Management is not only taught but also integrated into everyday life at HHL thanks to the international background of the students and professors. The international cross-linking of the program is denoted by substantial cooperation with universities abroad. From Australia to the U.S. — HHL has more than 130 partner universities worldwide. The students have the opportunity to spend a term at one of these partner universities. The intensive and professional counseling for students from initial contact to the alumni network has to be emphasized. HHL's Career Service accompanies students from the day they are admitted to the program until the successful conclusion of a job search.

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is a university-level institution and ranks amongst the leading international business schools. The goal of the oldest business school in German-speaking Europe is to educate effective, responsible and entrepreneurially-minded leaders. HHL stands out for its excellent teaching, its clear research focus, its effective knowledge transfer into practice as well as its outstanding student services. The courses of study include full and part-time Master in Management as well as MBA programs, a Doctoral Program and Executive Education. HHL is accredited by AACSB International.
