An Interdisciplinary Encounter on Current Status and Challenges of Trust Research

Welcome

International CASiM Research Colloquium on Trust on July 9, 2015 in Leipzig, Germany

We are happy to announce that the Center for Advanced Studies in Management (CASIM), the interdisciplinary research center of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management for business administration in the 21st century, will host its international research colloquium on the topic of trust in Leipzig (Germany) on July 9, 2015.

The research colloquium is an integral part of the HHL Summer School (July 6-10, 2015) that will tackle the topic of trust from an interdisciplinary perspective. Both events will offer numerous exciting sessions and a unique opportunity to discuss cutting-edge research findings with distinguished scholars, journal editors, and practitioners, as well as network with other researchers.

An essential part of the event is active participation of the junior researchers. Doctoral candidates and postdocs are strongly encouraged to submit a paper or an extended abstract or present a research project in the planned poster session. All submitted and accepted papers will be published in the proceedings and compete for the Heribert Meffert Award for outstanding papers.

We are looking forward to sharing an exciting colloquium with you.

Call for Papers

An Interdisciplinary Encounter on Current Status and Challenges of Trust Research

Important questions remain about how trust is differently understood, perceived and applied, and particularly in understanding the dynamics and processes behind its creation, maintenance, and restoring across several important contexts and in key business relationships. We welcome contributions from both junior and senior researchers representing both academic and practitioner communities, across a spectrum of disciplines, to present new theoretical perspectives or empirical insights based upon either qualitative or quantitative methods. Our call for papers and extended abstracts was thus deliberately broad.

Submissions should focus on the following themes:

  • Trust in money and alternative monetary regimes
  • Trust in banks
  • Intermediated trust in open innovation
  • Developing measures for trust
  • Dynamics of trust
  • Trust examination from a multidisciplinary perspective (for example business economics vs. ethics)
  • Creating and/or managing trust in social networks, esp. in business contexts
  • Investing in trust (favorably here case studies)

Each contribution should ideally address both scientific and practical implications of the research. Submitted papers should comprise approx. 6,000 words, whereas extended abstracts should not exceed 3,000 words (including references). The category of the submission should be clearly specified.

The submission deadline has ended. Further submissions can not be accepted.

Heribert Meffert Award

Among all submitted and accepted papers two distinguished contributions will have the chance to win a monetary prize – the Heribert Meffert Award (1st prize – EUR 600, 2nd prize – EUR 300).

(The selection committee reserves the right to withhold a/the prize/s in the event that entries are deemed to be of an inadequate quality. By submitting a work the entrant acknowledges that the submitted paper is original and solely the work of the proclaimed author(s) and that it does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party.)
