Our course instructors can prove well-grounded linguistic and methodological training or have accomplished a managerial education. Some of them have been working successfully at HHL for quite a number of years.

Beate Kanheissner graduated from Leipzig University as certified teacher (Master’s degree) for adult learners of English and Russian. In addition, she accomplished a special two-year course on teaching German as a foreign language at the Herder Institute Leipzig. Furthermore, she participated in a qualification course as managerial assistant.
Beate Kanheissner has been giving Business German lessons (B2/C1-level) from the very first days of HHL’s study programs.

Andreas Hellfayer has obtained his diploma degree (Master's degree) in translation sciences for English and Spanish from Leipzig University. He has been working as a freelance language teacher since 1995 (English, Spanish, German) at several schools and colleges in and around Leipzig.
Since March 2000, Andreas Hellfayer has been teaching German language classes at levels A1 - B1 at HHL.

Name: Daniela Schäfer

Course: Spanish for lower intermediate learners (general topics)
Daniela Schäfer holds a Master's degree in Interpreting for English and Spanish as well as for Teaching German as a Foreign Language from Leipzig University. During her studies she spent a year at Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (Mexico) teaching German on levels A1 to B2. Upon completion of her studies, she began working as a freelance language trainer for several educational institutions in and around Leipzig. In October 2009, she took up the position of a Spanish teacher at Ilmenau University of Technology.
Since winter term 2011, Daniela Schäfer has been teaching Spanish for lower intermediate learners at HHL.
