The purpose of the Center is to realize application-oriented project work and research in the environment of IT-based logistics closely cooperating with representatives from industry, commerce, logistics, service, public facilities as well as from the IT sector.

The main field of the Center's activity lies in the cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to achieve a sustainable enhancement of their competitive position. With the simultaneous involvement of the local large-sized industrial and logistics enterprises the Center's aim is to support the further development of the logistics location Leipzig in accordance with the local economic development strategies.

The Center for IT-based Logistics Leipzig (CITLOG) emphasizes the permanent exchange of knowledge and the sharing of experiences between representatives from theory and practice as well as among logistics experts of local enterprises.
