New class of Part-time MBA enrolled at HHL
Highest number of participants since launch of the program in 2003
The part-time MBA program at HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management started last Friday for the fourth consecutive year. The two-year program, which is taught entirely in English, is designed for executives and junior managers who are looking to enhance and advance their existing career with an MBA degree from one of Germany's leading business schools. Internationally renowned faculty from seven different countries teach up-to-date management theories and leadership skills.
The program allows all participants access to the sophisticated and extensive HHL - Alumni network. On average the students have more than six years of work experience and come from various big corporations like Audi, Daimler, GE, Tchibo and Porsche, but also from local companies like Stadtwerke Leipzig. The courses are scheduled biweekly for Fridays and Saturdays at the HHL in Leipzig.
Combining career and studies: HHL offers optimal conditions
Representative of the new class is Julia Baas (27) from the Daimler AG in Stuttgart who comments on her motives to enrol at the HHL: “ Originally my intention was to get my MBA degree from an on-line program to be able to integrate work and studies more easily. On the other hand personal contact and exchanges with people of different cultures and working backgrounds was important to me. That is why I chose the HHL because the program allows me to combine both elements. I am curious what the next two years at the HHL Part-time MBA Program will hold for me.”
A new trend in companies: The MBA degree as an instrument for strategic human resource development
Academic Director Prof. Dr. Torsten Wulf is pleased with the popularity of the program: “The current class with its 33 students is the largest that we could welcome since the start of the Part-time MBA Program. It clearly underscores the trend that the part-time MBA is increasingly recognized by human resource departments as a strategic instrument for personnel development and as an incentive for employees. More and more companies are willing to financially support their staff in obtaining a part-time MBA by sharing the programm fees. Right now we have five participants coming from one investment firm. For their specific needs we will customize a special module.”
