Teaching and Research Assistantships

 

HHL offers through the funding by the STIBET program of the “Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst” (DAAD) for improving the support of international doctoral candidates and postdocs, teaching and research assistantships starting in March 1, 2010. All chairholders of HHL can apply for their foreign doctoral candidates and postdocs (before “Habilitation”).

 

Teaching Assistantships

The aim of this funding is the integration of excellent international doctoral candidates or postdocs into the teaching activities of their department. Doctoral students shall gain the possibility to take part in courses or to offer tutorials, accompanying a course.

 

Research Assistantships

By assisting professors from HHL, international doctoral candidates and postdocs will be given the opportunity to gain insight into research at HHL. Doctoral students - in close collaboration with the academic advisor - will assist German or foreign students planning and structuring their thesis.

 

General Information

The maximum available amount is EUR 5,000 per year. The rates of up to EUR 400 per month are oriented at the general rules for payment of “wissenschaftliche Hilfskräfte”.

 

According to the DAAD guidelines, the assistantship is based on and limited to the general rules for payment of “Wissenschaftliche Hilfskräfte”, EUR 11,63/h for applicants with a doctoral degree or a Master's degree from a university, working at a university. >> DOWNLOAD

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Application deadline: January 31, 2012

 

Applications can only be submitted to the international department of HHL by the head of an academic department of HHL. They should include:

• a short description of the research project or the teaching activity/course, in which the assistant will participate, including the number of hours per month spent on the project.

The doctoral candidate or postdoc has to include in the application

• information about the bank account.
