DAAD - PROMOS Scholarship (Programm zur Steigerung der Mobilität von deutschen Studierenden)

About the Program

The program was established in 2010 replacing the FMS Program (Freemover Scholarships) of the DAAD. The former FMS Program and the current PROMOS Program share the objective to increase the international mobility of German students.

PROMOS is financed by Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

2010

In comparison to the FMS Program the 2010 PROMOS Program was aimed at an expanded target group (semester abroad worldwide). HHL received a total amount of EUR 3.000 and was thus able to support four students.

In addition, six HHL students successfully applied for a semester scholarship directly at the DAAD with a total support of approx. EUR 25.000.

2011

For 2011, the DAAD has terminated all semester scholarships. These are now a part of the PROMOS Program. Based on the allocation of financial funds, HHL has decided to continue the succesful FMS Program, now within the framework of PROMOS.

The total amount available in 2011 sums up to EUR 7.400 for HHL.

Eligibility

As a general rule a PROMOS scholarship will be awarded to German students who are interested in a semester abroad with a preference for

  • a European partner university without ERASMUS eligibility or

As an exception a PROMOS scholarship can also be awarded for studying at a partner university outside of Europe.
