Field projects - theory meets practice

HHL emphasizes practical experience in its study programs. Thus, the core modules include field projects. These are done in cooperation with business partners in the region and beyond.

In previous years, our students worked on the following projects:

Development of an expansion strategy for Dunkin’ Donuts Germany

Partner: Dunkin’ Donuts Germany

Supervised by the Dr. Werner Jackstaedt Chair of Economic and Business Ethics at HHL

Dunkin’ Donuts started expanding across Germany in 2006. The main target of the project was the identification of a shortlist of possible suppliers of bagels for Dunkin’ Donuts Germany, Spain, and Middle East. Moreover, the students had to compile a proposal for the positioning of the bagel product within the assortment of Dunkin’ Donuts Germany.

In addition, benchmarking was conducted to identify competitors and to analyze their range of products. On the basis of the study’s conclusions, a recommended course of action was drawn up with focus on extending the product range and expanding marketing activities.
