Exceutive Leadership and Succession

This research topic bases on the assumption that decisions and behavior of top managers, in particular the CEO, possess a considerable influence on a company’s development and success. It focuses on aspects like managers’ personal characteristics and experiences but also considers the effect of intra-organizational political dynamics and power distribution in the “dominant coalition”.

Research in this field is primarily done in an Anglo-American context. In Germany far less research has yet been conducted. In view of these diverse influences, several smaller research projects have been started or are planned in the future.
