Heinz Nixdorf Foundation Extends Funding for Chair of Logistics at HHL

The Heinz Nixdorf Foundation will continue to fund the Chair of IT-based Logistics at HHL – Leipzig Graduate School of Management for another year.

This financial support illustrates the foundation's vision in the promotion of innovative scientific activities and its connection with the eastern German states. Research, teaching and transfer at the Heinz Nixdorf Chair of IT-based Logistics at HHL significantly contribute to the development of the logistics hub Central Germany, providing an important stimulus for Leipzig as a location for business and science. The chair, established in 2007, combines logistics in the economic sense with the IT-related perspective.

Dr. Horst Nasko, Vice Chairman of the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation, says: "The Heinz Nixdorf Chair of IT-based Logistics at HHL has seen such a positive development that we will gladly support this success story for another year."

Prof. Andreas Pinkwart, Dean of HHL – Leipzig Graduate School of Management, explains: "Thanks to the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation we are able to extend the academic portfolio at HHL and to consolidate the scientific profiling of the business school in the core field of business administration. The networking between the chair and the stakeholders in this region is very important to us. Additionally, we would like to strengthen cooperation on the European level in the future."

Prof. Iris Hausladen, Chairholder of the Heinz Nixdorf Chair of IT-based Logistics, says about her work: "We are working with a very strong focus on practice, we are not sitting in the ivory tower. In addition to the development of theories and models for the transport of goods from one place to another in a faster, more efficient, safe and sustainable manner, we attach great importance to the cooperation with companies. Therefore, HHL has joined forces with partners from business and science, associations, networks and chambers. Another supporting platform of our chair is the Center for IT-based Logistics Leipzig (CITLOG)."
