HHL among the Top 50 Business Schools worldwide

HHL’s full-time MBA program ranked by AméricaEconomía, the leading Latin American business magazine

The full-time MBA program “International Management” of HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management has been repeatedly acclaimed. After receiving the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD’s hallmark of quality as one of the ten best international Master’s degree programs taught in Germany in 2008, it has now been commended in Latin America.

As one of Germany’s leading business schools, HHL has successfully maintained its position among the top 50 MBA programs in the world. In its most prestigious ranking in Latin America, the business magazine AméricaEconomía puts HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management in 46th position. The prominent names at the top of the table include Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), INSEAD and the London Business School.

Ever since it was refounded in 1992, HHL has consistently advanced up the league of top European business schools and successfully aligned itself within the competition for the world’s best students. Says Prof. Hans Wiesmeth, Dean of HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management: “We are delighted about the affirmation that HHL can keep up also with its international competitors in management education. This pays tribute to the excellent training future business leaders receive at HHL. Just as it was 111 years ago, our goal remains to prepare capable and responsible executives for today's management challenges in the globalized world.”

HHL: global atmosphere, international network and high quality of teaching
Currently studying as a double degree MBA student at HHL, Maricel Gibbs from Santiago de Chile says: “A global atmosphere, international network and high quality of teaching are the main characteristics of HHL. I have had the opportunity of gaining valuable insights into other cultures, seeing different points of view, and learning about different backgrounds and ways of working. This outstanding experience in this kind of environment definitely helps future managers to polish the skills required to be successful in the business world.”

AméricaEconomía began publishing rankings of MBA programs in Latin America in 1995. In response to growing interest among students and companies in studying in Europe and the USA, the ranking’s league tables were broadened to include also business schools of these regions. Its assessment criteria include the average GMAT score, the percentage of foreign students, and graduates’ starting salary.

The full-time MBA program "International Management"
The HHL program excelled with its unique structure and contents, entirely taught in English, allowing the HHL MBA to set itself apart from the field of applicants. The MBA program is perfectly adapted to current requirements for executives in the global economy. The curriculum is taught by known experts from Germany, and from all over the world. Another notable mark of quality is HHL’s accreditation by AACSB, the world's leading accreditation agency for business schools.

Prof. Dr. Torsten Wulf, Academic Director of the MBA programs at HHL, notes that, "Since its introduction in 2000, the MBA program aims at the teaching of management and leadership skills in a global context. This has recently been reinforced by an innovative curriculum that is no longer purely functional, but is structured into various interdisciplinary management challenges (for example, Managing Investors, Managing Society, and Managing Customers). This functional, shareholder-oriented perspective combines the content of individual courses, and offers students a significant added value."

A stay abroad for study or practice ensures the practical relevance and internationality of the MBA. Numerous collaborations with foreign universities guarantee the international network of the program. HHL has more than 100 partner universities abroad, from Australia to Uruguay.
At various partner universities, it is possible to earn a double degree. Furthermore, 28 professors from seven countries provide students with insights into up-to-date practices and into future trends of entrepreneurial issues in a global context.

Particularly noteworthy is the intensive and professional student service that starts with the first contact and extends all the way to the alumni network. The HHL Career Service supports students from the date of admission until the successful job application. The placement rate for highly-skilled positions is 100 % for German students; and 95 % for international students. Many students receive offers from top international companies before graduation.
