MBA programs of HHL under new leadership
Professor Dr. Torsten Wulf new Academic Director of MBA as of September 1, 2007
On September 1, 2007, Professor Dr. Torsten Wulf is taking over the academic leadership of the MBA programs at HHL – Leipzig Graduate School of Management. The 39-year-old will succeed Professor Richard B. Mancke, PhD, who set up the full-time program seven years ago and has managed and expanded this program as well as HHL’s Part-time MBA Program, established in 2003, with great success.
Professor Wulf: “The internationality and consistent focus on “leadership” make HHL’s MBA programs belong to Germany’s best. My aim is to bring to bear our strengths more perceptible on the European market and beyond. That is why we like to grow – also in cooperation with other European top MBA programs, especially in the field of Executive MBA part-time programs that still need to be developed.”
Furthermore, Wulf will focus on a continuous development of the content of HHL’s MBA programs as well as on the expansion of MBA recruitment activities of international enterprises at HHL.
With the appointment of Wulf who is also chairholder of “Strategic Management and Organization” at HHL, the business school has found a dynamic and international experienced expert, who before worked with the well-known Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, School of International Management in Paris. In Paris Wulf was responsible for the marketing and career development service of the local MBA programs as Director of Business Development and he also held the function of the director of the full-time MBA programs. The academic gained comprehensive practical experience in seven years at German Lufthansa AG and working as a consultant for numerous large and medium-sized companies at home and abroad.
Wulf’s research work centres on strategic leadership and diversification. Wulf took his doctor’s degree at HHL and habilitated at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
HHL – Leipzig Graduate School of Management, founded in 1898 as Handelshochschule Leipzig and reopened in 1992, is Germany’s oldest business school. Today it is ranked among the leading business schools in Europe. HHL offers an 18-month ACQUIN accreditated Master of Science program and a two-year Diploma program in Management with. Two MBA (Master of Business Administration) programs offer professionals a 15-month full-time or two years part-time course. In cooperation with its subsidiary HHL Executive, HHL also provides company-specific executive education programs. A three-year Doctoral program completes the range of programs at HHL.
