International competence is essential for the success of a business leader. Global partnerships are therefore one of HHL's key assets. We don't have just one, two or three partner universities, rather we serve our small student body with more than 100 >> partner universities in a great variety of countries reaching from Australia to Uruguay.
In order to keep abreast with current international, social and economic challenges, our M.Sc. students spend one term abroad. Our MBA students can spend a term abroad by choice. The learning experience focuses on the methods of working and the way of life in foreign cultures. The courses taken abroad will be part of the student's performance record and are given equal value considering the overall grades at HHL. Within a double degree option it is also possible to earn an additional degree at selected partner universities.
Each year around 80 HHL students spend a >> term abroad at one of our partner institutions and over 80 incoming >> exchange students per year are an enrichment of our academic programs.
We also support international internships in major companies in order to develop the ability of our students to do business and make lifelong associations with people from all over the world.

(MBA alumnus, OC&C Strategy Consultants)
"After reading Friedman's book "The World is Flat" I had to come to India and discover for myself whether India is a threat or an opportunity for Europe and the USA. Due to Indian friends and Indian B-school rankings there was no alternative to the long-time number one - the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). HHL offered me the unique chance to spend my 5th term at IIMA and to find out that there are plenty of OPPORTUNITIES."
