Digital Leadership and Transformation

Shaping the dynamic change using new leadership tools and innovation management

Digital Leadership and Transformation

The second wave of digitalization permeates almost every field of corporate leadership and challenges innovation management in a fundamental manner. Increased complexity and higher speed in making and implementing decisions are countered by new opportunities for faster analysis, communication and innovation.

HHL is particularly competent in the fields of strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation and change management as well as e-commerce and multi-channel management. The Financial Times only recently ranked the school as the world leader in e-business. The university is collaborating with many start-ups and research centers as well as major medium-sized enterprises and DAX-listed companies on these topics. The students benefit from this cooperation just as much as the businesses.

In the upcoming months HHL will continue to explore what was started during the 2015 HHL Forum, namely to examine how dynamic change can be shaped using new, commonly digital instruments of leadership and the increasing openness of innovation management more and more. We ask: how can we prepare the leaders of tomorrow so they will be well-equipped for these new conditions? And what is more: how can we enable them to actively shape and utilize the digital revolution? There is a wide range of challenges and we would like to shed light on this topic and discuss it from as many angles as possible within the framework of different HHL events.

The participants will exchange views and discuss ideas covering the concepts of the smart car, smart home and Industry 4.0. In addition to technological and economic opportunities, the next Accelerate Conference will also focus on the ethical questions of cross-linking.

Moreover, the program includes numerous networking opportunities and a start-up pitch, which will allow the participants to present their ideas to a panel of investors and win prize money.

Hagen Fischer explains, "Our Accelerate@HHL student initiative is hard at work planning and preparing this year's event in order to make it a great success. The new website with a new featurette, ticketing and a detailed program has already gone live. Now, we are focusing on marketing to potential participants and recruiting speakers and sponsors."

The organization team is proud to have already enlisted a couple of high-caliber speakers for the conference. Among them are founders, CEOs, investors and researchers who deal intensively with the cross-linking of our environment.
