Does the full-time M.Sc. Program only start in the fall?

No, you can join the full-time program in March or September of each year.

 

 

I do not have my Bachelor diploma yet, can I still apply?

Yes, you may apply if you are in your final year of studies and will finish your Bachelors degree before the start of the program at HHL.

 

 

How much does the Master Program in Management (M.Sc.) at HHL cost?

Tuition fees for the flexible 21-24-month full-time M.Sc. Program at HHL amount to EUR 25,000 and are payable in three equal installments. In Germany, the tuition fee is >> tax deductible as anticipated professional expenses.

 

 

I am an international applicant. Do I have to attend an Admission Day?

Applicants residing outside of Germany are exempt from attending an Admission Day. However, in these cases GMAT and TOEFL have to be submitted along with all other application documents. Your application will not be processed if we do not have a valid GMAT score.

 

 

Which additional costs do I have to calculate?

Not included in HHL's tuition fees are

  • living expenses,
  • costs for study material (e.g. books, personal copies),
  • travel and living expenses when studying abroad (tuition fees for mandatory courses at the partner university are included).

 

 

Are scholarships and financing options available?

Up to 10% of students can receive a full or partial tuition fee exemption. The decision about the reduction is based on the candidate's academic performance as well as his or her financial need.

 

Additionally, HHL is offering up to four >> scholarships that support HHL's mission to "educate effective and responsible business leaders through excellence in teaching, research and practice." The scholarships will provide successful applicants with a tuition waiver that covers EUR 15,000 of the tuition of the full-time M.Sc. Program.

Am I required to speak German?

Though students do not have to speak German in the M.Sc. Program at HHL, solid language knowledge is a major benefit when looking for an internship or a job in Germany and Europe.

HHL offers German language classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers.

Is the program accredited or ranked?

Yes, HHL's full-time Master in Management Program (M.Sc.) was accredited by the German accreditation agency ACQUIN in 2006. Already in 2004 and again in 2009, HHL was accredited by AACSB International.

Our full-time M.Sc. in Management Program has been consistently ranked in top positions in national and international rankings. In the Financial Times Global Masters in Management 2011 ranking, HHL's program was ranked number 19 worldwide and number 1 in entrepreneurship. In 2010, HHL was ranked number 38 worldwide.

 

 

What are the admission requirements?

Applicants need to apply with the following documents:

 

  • complete online application at >> https://study.hhl.de
  • curriculum vitae
  • Bachelor degree with above average grades (at least 180 ETCS)
  • letter of motivation
  • High School Degree ("Allgemeine Hochschulreife")
  • proof of a minimum of 3 months practical experience*
  • GMAT (or GRE if GMAT test center not available)*
  • proof of above-average English skills (e.g. TOEFL)
  • proof of a second foreign language*  


* These documents can be handed in after the application deadline, but must be submitted by start of the program at the latest. Submitting the GMAT by the time of application is mandatory for all applicants residing outside of Germany who cannot participate in an Admission Day.

 

 

What is the atmosphere at HHL and in Leipzig like?

HHL is a small and very selective graduate school located on a campus of the University of Leipzig in a culturally vibrant city with half a million inhabitants.

Neighborhood parks, sports facilities, a zoo, jogging and biking paths and waterways afford an at-home world of things to see and do.

Where will I be staying in Leipzig?

Most of HHL's students choose to rent a private apartment during their stay in Leipzig. Accommodation in Leipzig is very reasonable.

All student dorms within Leipzig are rented out by the >> Studentenwerk Leipzig (institution governed by public law for the support of college and university students, maintains cafeterias, dormitories, administers student loans etc.) and are available to HHL students as well.
