The Leipzig Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer sponsors the Schumpeter Junior Professorship for Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer
On March 1, 2012, Dr. Vivek K. Velamuri (32) will become the new Schumpeter Junior Professor for Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer at HHL. This Junior Professorship is kindly being sponsored by the Leipzig Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer. Dr. Velamuri’s research focus is on hybrid value creation, i.e. the process of generating value added by combining products and services to well-adjusted offers. This is the topic on which he completed his doctoral dissertation at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Chair of Professor Kathrin M. Möslein) with a summa cum laude. Working at Professor Möslein’s Chair, which focuses on innovation and value creation, Dr. Verlamuri gained significant experience in research carried out in cooperation with industry. Additionally, the new Junior Professor, who also holds an MBA from HHL, has a solid background in teaching. His constant interaction with entrepreneurs motivated him to design a course for students to write cases on entrepreneurial firms.
New Junior Professorship strengthens HHL's profile as an entrepreneurial business school
HHL Dean Prof. Andreas Pinkwart says: "We are glad Dr. Velamuri has assumed the Leipziger Stiftung für Innovation und Technologietransfer Schumpeter Junior Professorship ‘Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer‘ post. His appointment will strengthen our profile as an international business school and incubator for new business ideas and start-ups in the Leipzig innovation region. The knowledge and innovation transfer in this region is of particular concern for the Leipzig-based foundation as well. Together with the Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank Chair of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, the new Junior Professorship opens up further profiling opportunities, which will increase our performance and penetration in a strategic field for the future in the Leipzig region."
