Beta Gamma Sigma - Recognizing Business Excellence

Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is a scholastic honor society of business schools accredited by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools). The society was established to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, and to foster personal and professional excellence among its members. Worldwide, excellent graduates of business schools can become members of this honor society.

The Beta Gamma Sigma chapter at HHL

The Beta Gamma Sigma chapter at HHL was installed in December 2004, following HHL’s accreditation by AACSB.

Distinguished HHL graduates are invited every year to join the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter of our business school. Currently, the number of members counts up to 288 graduates and faculty staff.

In July 2011, 47 new members were inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter at HHL.

We are proud to announce that in 2010 HHL’s chapter of BGS again met the initial criteria as “Premier Chapter”. Consequently, the chapter was entitled to suggest a nominee for the >> 2011 BGS Scholarship Program.

Who is invited to lifetime membership?

  • members of the school management (Dean, Associated Deans and Chancellor)
  • professors with at least a six-year teaching record at the business school

  • the top 20 % of HHL's graduate programs on condition that all examinations have been taken within one year after the official completion of the study program (including the submission of the Master thesis)
  • all doctoral students who successfully completed their doctoral projects at HHL
